Gourd Art

Betty Finch was invited to exhibit her gourd art at the Bakersfield Museum of Art show. The Bakersfield Museum of Art said it was the most popular show they had ever had. She sold 13 pieces. The museum said they are an accredited gallery and rarely feature local artists.

The "Horse" sold on opening night.

For you chess players there was a "gourd game table" complete with a "gourd chess set" with "gourd person" on a "gourd stool".

"Cat Lady" sold all her cats and kittens.

Unique poster depicting a gourd family. The people are constructed of hard shell gourds with gourd seed teeth. The eyes are glass. Most of the gourds used were grown by the artist, Betty Finch. This was a 5-year construction project.
